Grammy Awards 2016: tutti i vincitori della cinquantottesima edizione

La notte scorsa sono stati assegnati i Grammy Awards, i più importanti riconoscimenti musicali degli Stati Uniti, consegnati ogni anno dalla National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, l’associazione che rappresenta i lavoratori dell’industria musicale statunitense. La cerimonia, presentata dal rapper e attore LL Cool J e tenuta allo Staples Center di Los Angeles in California, ha visto trionfare la cantante Taylor Swift in più categorie: miglior album, con 1989, premiato anche come miglior album vocale pop, e miglior video, quello di Bad Blood, brano tratto dall’album pluridecorato. L’artista più premiato, tuttavia, è stato il rapper Kendrick Lamar, il quale, pur avendo collezionato ben cinque riconoscimenti, tra cui quello per il miglior album rap (To Pimp a Butterfly), la migliore canzone rap (Alright), la migliore performance rap, la migliore collaborazione rap e miglior video (insieme a Taylor Swift per Bad Blood), è stato escluso dalle categorie principali.

Anche il gruppo rock Alabama Shakes ha portato a casa ben tre riconoscimenti: miglior album alternative con Sound & Color e miglior canzone e miglior performance rock per Don’t Wanna Fight

Il cantante britannico Ed Sheeran ha portato a casa, per la prima volta nella sua carriera, ben due premi: quelli per la miglior canzone dell’anno e per la miglior performance pop solista (Thinking Out Loud).

Il premio come miglior album rock, tuttavia, lo hanno vinto i Muse con l’ultimo Drones.

Anche quest’anno la cerimonia è stata impreziosita da tributi ad artisti scomparsi: Lady Gaga ha omaggiato David Bowie, scomparso lo scorso 10 gennaio, mentre gli Hollywood Vampires, supergruppo formato da Alice Cooper, Joe Perry degli Aerosmith e dall’attore e musicista Johnny Depp, accompagnati da Duff McKagan e Matt Sorum dei Guns N’ Roses al basso e alla batteria, hanno tributato Lemmy Kilmister, leader, voce e bassista dei Motorhead scomparso lo scorso 28 dicembre. I Ghost, con il brano Cirice, hanno trionfato nella categoria miglior performance metal, battendo i Lamb of God, gli August Burns Red e i Sevendust.

Buddy Guy, leggenda vivente del blues che quest’anno compirà ottant’anni, ha trionfato nella categoria miglior album blues, con il suo Born to Play the Guitar.
